How Can Fish Oil Supplements Improve Your Health?

In the past couple of years, fish oil has soared in popularity as it contains Omega 3 fatty acids.

It is believed that a diet high in Omega 3 can help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.  The American Heart Association recommends the consumption of 1g of fish oil daily, preferably by eating fish, for patients with coronary heart disease.  Eating in excess of this dosage is not recommended because of the contaminants that may be present, when eating in large doses.

Both neck pain patients and rheumatoid arthritis sufferers have demonstrated benefits from taking regular supplements after testing by researchers.

Omega 3 is also contained in olive oil, traditionally a part of the Mediterranean diet, which research has shown to increased the level of HDL (good) cholesterol and decrease that of the triglycerides (which carry fatty material around the body).

As it may be dangerous to take fish oil in combination with your regular medication, please check with your physician before taking any nutritional supplements.
