Why Retire?

Join the increasing flood of people who aren't really "retiring", they simply reinvent their careers and take a job that is more flexible to allow them to enjoy their new lifestyle.

A recent survey discovered that many people reaching retirement age wanted to continue working.  However, they wanted more flexible hours and less stress in their working environment.

Many people take on part-time jobs in an area related to their previous career.  However, some enjoy the flexibility and their maturity allows them to try something entirely new, for example, coaching the school football team!

Working gives a sense of purpose as well as providing structure in the working week.  It's also an opportunity to "make a difference" and to get involved in charity work or something which adds value to society.

For stressed executives or teachers, the sudden stop of retirement can often lead to ill health or worse.  Continuing to be active and involved in the working world, helps to ensure health, both physical and mental.

More and more employers are looking for people with experience and legislation is meaning that age discrimination is not permitted.  Rejoining the workforce on your own terms could be just the pep up you're looking for as you look towards your future.
